The future of work is shifting and the culinary sector has seen significant transformation over the last number of years. The expected employment rate for Accommodation and Food Services is expected to grow 9.1%. The occupation projections from May 2018 to May 2023 demonstrates the demand for qualified chefs is expected to grow by 16.7% nationally requiring an additional 16,800 chefs. An additional 4,400 qualified pastry chefs, 6,200 cooks and 16,100 kitchen hands is anticipated by May 2023 across Australia.
The QTIC Queensland Culinary Working Group has been developed to provide a structured mechanism for industry to recommend to government; workforce development, skilling issues and strategies within the Queensland Culinary sector.Refer to the Terms of Reference for further information
